Heya folks! Itβs time for your weekly dose of update news. Weβve been hard at work writing docs and coming up with a plan to upgrade our package management with more awesomeness and less Python 2. More on that another time.
This week, @ReillyBrogan updated our OpenSSL version to 3.1, meaning that almost all of our packages using OpenSSL are now using a much newer version with new features and fixes. This is a large operation, with a lot of care taken to not break the package manager during the update.
Changes this week include:
- OpenSSL to 3.1.2
- Linux-current to 6.4.13
- Linux-lts to 5.15.129
- PAM
- PipeWire
- CoreUtils
- Unbound 1.17.1
- Lsd
- Brave
- Sigil
- LibreOffice
- Tor
- FluidSynth
- Firefox
- Vivaldi (stable and snapshot)
- Thunderbird
- Restic
- Discord (already in Shannon)
- VS Code file picker fixed
- Patched libnvme and libblockdev to fix user-reported issues

Thatβs all weβve got for this week. Come back next week for the next installment of update news!
