ReillyBrogan hi!
No, with unstable i mean that the system, before the update that caused the corruption, was anyway not at its best.
Normally I work with a usb-c monitor, where all the devices are connected. It was working flawless.
But yesterday, once started with the monitor connected, no usb device was recognised. And after less than a minute the system started the boot (alone, without any interaction). Starting without the monitor (then, once connected, no device was found) was working but it wasn't possible to shut it down. The command (via ui or terminal) was just ignored. The terminal, moreover, was showing the message shutdown in 08:00
and once the time passed, changed to shutdown in 08:01
,hence delaying it from minute to minute.
Due to this I've tried to update the system. This caused a complete collapse, due to a library broken in the middle of the process. After this the system was not bootable anymore.
I've tried to 'repair' the folder with the missing library copying the content of the live system (from the usb stick). chroot
was suddenly working, but then I was stuck at the wlan configuration. I've tried the steps from the document, but nothing was working. Nix, null niente, nada. Impossibile to run any command that involved the download of something.
So, after using 8 hours of work to restore the system, I've decided to copy my home and reinstall everything. I've lost one full day of work without finding the solution.
This is the status once removed the boot options as you suggested. Now it even doesn't reach the boot selection form, it hangs here.
