I love 10.8 so much and I went back to the taskbar and gave up Plank for now.

I am able to pin any Flatpak I want to the panel and Favorite it. Except a critical one I launch daily: OnlyOfiice.

The options (star/launch/close) just aren't there for this app as you can see.

This is pretty small potatoes but I am a fan of consistency. I guess my questions are 1) why are the options disappeared for this app, and 2) how do I fix it so it pins to the taskbar?

    I was able to drag the teeny tiny onlyoffice logo into budgie dock from solus menu a week ago (@tflovik). I have a pic of this tiny icon, much smaller than the rest, in 'show yer solus.'
    When I abandoned Surfn-Breeze icons and tried basically any other icon theme I got normal size:

    Conclusion: Surfn' icon theme gone, parked it Deepin-dark for now.

    this trick not working either. onlyoffice still cannot be pinned in budgie 10.8/solus.
    It's a known issue for some people in all Budgie stripes (Endeavour, Ubu, etc) I am learning. I have no real remedies of solveds here in my research---

    --sorta one of those things where it's just going to inflict a small handful of flatpak-pinners and best left not-talked-about as far as I can see....sobeit. small taters anyway.

    Try to drag the Onlyoffice icon from the menu to the panel. Make shure you drag it between two icons that is pinned there allready. This worked for me on other flatpak apps.

        So I've had this problem before and found that the info Josh posted here helped me! It was a matter of editing my shortcuts and adding StartupWMClass=Blender to the file. In your case, it would be StartupWMClass=OpenOffice perhaps? After adding this, I was able to pin my flatpak to the dock.

            Bhibb the 2019 Strobl solution did not work, I really thought it would. I have not, however, logged out or rebooted as I'm knee deep in work crap. But I will try to later and update according.

              Practically
              I moved "StartupWMClass=" up and renamed it because I don't like that ";" and the difference with the "Name=", but I don't know if both steps are necessary, maybe only one of the two is enough... anyway now it is works

              The value of StartupWMClass must match the class name of the main window of the running application. To get the correct class name, you can run the following command in the terminal:
              xprop WM_CLASS
              Then, click on the OnlyOffice main window. After clicking look at the terminal and it will appear:
              WM_CLASS(STRING) = "DesktopEditors", "ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors"
              You must use "DesktopEditors" as the value for the StartupWMClass property in the .desktop file.
              In my case it is located in /var/lib/flatpak/exports/share/applications
              Once this is done, restart the session.

                @FAb7D that didn't work either, but I kept your config! I don't even have the .local/share/flatpak/exports/share/applications/ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors...my entry stops with /applications and contains only a mimelist file, but thank you.
