downhill That is true with the appimage. Any container system will add overhead. Also my experience with appimages is I haven't had one not work yet and are simple to setup initially, updates are not as well done compared to flatpak, snaps and native distro pakages. Some people don't have the time at the moment to do the method you like to use, unless they know about it before hand. I still like your method and have set it up, but I had to do my own research. I found out that I needed menulibre
in order to set up the menu entry and then I had to observe how the other menu entries were setup. Then I was able to use your method.
This is how I set it up:

from the Solus software center, opened it and clicked on "internet" category, clicked the + icon at the top of the window, Then added the icon I wanted to be used for Waterfox, changed the name to Waterfox, added the correct file path to the area labeled "command", saved the settings and left everything else alone.
Thankfully it works and everything operates as it should.
