I am happy to learn that 4.4 is now available. I plan to do a clean install within the next few days, just to get rid of cruft that has, no doubt, accumulated since I installed 4.3 a couple years ago. Thanks to the team.

I've been tied up with other things all day, and didn't notice this announcement until now. I'll have the new .ISO files on a torrent server as soon as I can. I did send an email to our family members who are using Solus, and attached the link to the new files. It's gonna make their day, as well.

WetGeek Just a note: Anyone currently using Solus is (assuming that they have been updating) already using 4.4 Harmony. No need to reinstall. I'm reinstalling because I made a hash of my 4.3 installation during the winter break, and I want to get the cruft out.

Not mentioned in the article, we now support secureboot, just need to import a cert file one first boot, and once enrolled, solus should boot in secure boot.

I just ordered another (newer) Optiplex that will be here on Sunday. I'm going to use it to replace the Windows machine that's currently doing our streaming (and struggling with that). It will have plenty of penguin power (after I install Solus Plasma) to handle the streaming mission and also serve Solus torrents. Those are the only two tasks here that need to run 24/7, so we can hibernate all the other computers when we're not actively using them.

This will be the first computer here to have 4.4 installed as a clean boot. I'm looking forward to that, even though I know that most are technically on 4.4 already. Are you planning on using a secure boot? I'm undecided as yet, since this computer is only physically available to me. Should I be using it anyway? Is there any advantage that I'm not yet aware of?

tomscharbach I reinstalled 4.3 after Josh & Crew took back over late march/april. Been more attentive to cruft and I think will get by with no 4.4 iso install; I haven't tore into this thing like I usually do.
That said: great PSA/reminder. I will keep updating by choice.

Someone else said it best on ths thread: moved mountains on a short timeline. Out of distrowatch gulag and back on the radar.

I was already on 4.4 but the last update went wrong and the grub is gone.

WetGeek I just ordered another (newer) Optiplex that will be here on Sunday

Sunday came and went, and I'm now streaming TV wtih my "new" Optiplex, running Solus 4.4 Plasma. Also on that machine is Elisa, with my music library loaded, and Transmission, to handle torrents. Because my wife watches TV after I've gone to bed, the streaming computer runs 24/7. Thus it's a perfect place for a torrent server.

After fussing around a bit with Transmission's properties (it's been years since I've used it), it's now seeding all four of the Solus editions. There hasn't been a lot of traffic yet, but enough for me to tell that it's set up correctly and is working well.

I expect the traffic to pick up after more folks who haven't already updated to 4.4 want to install it from the new .ISO file, and choose to get it with a torrent.

So basically the only difference between updated iso 4.4 and my updated hdd 4.3 to 4.4 is I never uninstalled nautilus but you guys did?
think I will do that now.
