JoshStrobl Hey Josh, just out of curiosity what changed your mind about finally using Nemo over Nautilus ?
I seem to remember back in the day that you were somewhat opposed to adopting any other file manager for Budgie, even going as far as to suggest that you might develop one yourself from scratch
BTW absolutely thrilled that you changed your mind

Nautilus has continued to degrade over time. I've been used Nemo since Jan of last year or so (first trying Caja) and I ship it in Fedora Budgie Spin as well as the upcoming Fedora Onyx.

To be fair, most of the operating systems that ship Budgie Desktop have standardized on Nemo. Ubuntu Budgie has been shipping it for ages, as an example, and we've generally been recommending it in Buddies of Budgie when folks want to start packaging Budgie Desktop for their favorite OS.
I'm patently waiting for access to ISO's signed up on open collective yesterday after talking with Ermo last night in the matrix dev channel.
Attention Backers!
The MATE testing ISO has been updated this evening to fix issues with keyboard layouts:
Keyboard layout selected during install was not used for login greeter after reboot.
Keyboard layout would not be remembered between sessions.
Thank you for your support!
All isos test boot and install fine on Intel Arc A770, I have a A380 as well but it's the same driver stack so I'm 99% sure it should work.

Hello, I'm sure this question has been asked many a times but for newer backers such as myself on open collective of the release tester tier, will we receive an email about where to find the testing iso's after a bit of time after becoming a contributor or are they sent out in batches?
Mod note: Sorted this out with the user on Matrix. See Tracey's reply about how this will work for future ISOs
Can't wait until the stable release!
Please, can someone send me a link to the iso, I want to try it

If you're a Solus contributor on Open Collective, you should already have it. If not, you'll probably be able to download a copy in a few days. The new .ISO files should be published very soon.
But if you've been updating your Solus when upgrades are available, you've already been on version 4.4 for quite a while now. The new .ISO files will be mostly of use to folks with new bleeding-edge equipment who can't install Solus using the 4.3 .ISO files.
The Solus Team has done some extra work in manually sending out beta ISO information to new OC backers as a thank you for helping us test. Given all the updates we've made, and new hardware in the wild, we felt it was best to get testing from a wider audience. We are grateful to all you beta testers, you help us make a more stable distro for everyone.
Manual ISO emails were a one off thing. Going forward, we will go back to our normal process. Beta ISOs will be released to existing Open Collective backers. It is not tenable for us to manually send out individual ISO emails every release. Also, the beta ISOs are a way we help thank people for contributing to us financially and keeping the lights on. Anyone wanting to access beta ISOs for 4.5 is encouraged to support us through OC.
The public release ISOs will be published very soon. Keep an eye on the forums and social media for the announcement.
Just to check I am on the release testers list as I have not got an email and I would love to test as I have some pretty recent hardware. No stress, just nice to know I am on the list for future releases and I look forward to the public release of 4.4 can't wait
Bornholm People do not get it retroactively.
If you are not an OpenCollective backer and want to be a beta tester for these release ISOs in the future, be sure to join at the Release Testers, Beta Tester or Crew tiers!
Hi JoshStrobl , I am an OpenCollective backer and have been for around seven months. I just terminated the donation and redid it about a week ago in case I had done something wrong but I have not received any download link. Like I said no stress just have a AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS and thought it would be nice to test the new release on that. Looking forward to the full release and the future of Solus!
