throwaway Update: So I logged into tty and undid the update. Seems okay now. Something must be going on with the update? Maybe others would have a similar issue.
Patrice On Budgie, small problem with Brave browser. I had to erase the GPU cache : rm ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default/GPUCache/* and it then went ok. Restart of Solus uneventful otherwise. Thanks to Staudey on Matrix Support channel.
elfprince Patrice I am running Brave on Budgie, and I haven't seen any issues (yet) after this update. What was the problem? Here I wish to point out that this could have been discussed in this forum, but wasn't. So it is gone in the wind, as in, I/nobody can check into it. Another downside of using Matrix-like thingies for support. 😥
throwaway Staudey Here's what was downgraded Operation #563: takeback Date: 2023-06-12 * appstream-data is downgraded from 22-24-1-x86_64 to 21-22-1-x86_64. * firefox is downgraded from 114.0.1-278-1-x86_64 to 114.0-277-1-x86_64. * llvm is downgraded from 15.0.7-108-1-x86_64 to 15.0.7-107-1-x86_64. * grep is downgraded from 3.11-17-1-x86_64 to 3.8-16-1-x86_64. * android-tools is downgraded from 34.0.1-21-1-x86_64 to 33.0.3-20-1-x86_64.
tuxlover4 to OP what GPU card are you using ? remember that as of the latest update NVIDIA 390x series was dropped . the 470xx series is the latest drivers supported in the repo. Solus is moving forward and is dropping legacy driivers etc to make way for modern technology.
brent throwaway mine were all the same except I didn't have android-tools edit: they just pushed a 'switcheroo' package and a budgie-desktop. related?
CorvusRuber throwaway Did you run eopkg up (or a full update from software center) ? Because those look like very few updates, did you cherry pick them instead of doing a full upgrade ? Also, system specs (GPU, CPU, DE at the very least) ?
Patrice @elfprince , here is a screenshot of the behaviour of Brave after update : That's the Solus website. About Matrix, I find it very interesting, and actually, response to my problem was given in minutes on the Solus support channel. I agree that then the solution should come after in the forum to help others. Reason I post my previous message here as it was about.
elfprince Patrice Looks like all is blanked out? Matrix is fun, but it is a one-on-one communication place.
