Bitwig v1

Hi everybody,

Back in days, I bought the first version of Bitwig ... and I'm really happy with it 😉

In Solus depots, it's possible to install Bitwig but v2. To install the v1, I have to download the .deb on the Bitwig website, decompress it and install the software by copy-pasting it into /usr/* ... which is not very "clean".

Would it be possible to offer the choice of version ?

No more applications will be accepted into the third party repository, only updates currently. I would suggest looking for a Snap/AppImage/Flatpak of Bitwig to use on Solus.

OK, my main problem here is that Bitwig itself only propose .deb format ... maybe I have to ask them 🤔

Hi team,

I'm a really happy user of Bitwig but I purchase only the first version (not enought money since for newer).

I use it mainly on Linux, on Debian derivatives in a first time but now on Solus.

Solus offer to install Bitwig for repositories but only the v2 and they don't accept other "third parties" apps since then.

Is it possible to imagine the installation of all Bitwig's versions from Flatpak / Snaps repositories or via AppImage ?

no, sorry, the Bitwig Studio flatpak (https://gitlab.com/renich/bitwigstudio-flatpak/) is not coming from us directly as we officially only support Ubuntu.

Yeah pretty short.
After that, I contacted Renich (who maintain the repository and) who helped me set up his flatpak to install Bitwig's v1.

He did a small tutorial video on Peertube.

Justin Yes I know, they would be much more "universal" by supporting flatpak and it wouldn't cost them much 🤔
