How I delete snap and all traces of it

sudo snap list
[sudo] password for saturne:
No snaps are installed yet. Try 'snap install hello-world'.

this means you haven't installed a snap package. use --all just for kicks.
sudo is not necessary here.

do this:
1 snap find brave

2 snap install brave

3 snap list

then you should see brave browser. "no snaps installed" in your output means no snaps installed, in my estimation (although I've been wrong before.)

and your post probably belonged in a new thread not this one (this is about getting rid of it not installing in it)

Antoine Well, if you don't have any snaps installed then that command will of course show nothing. You should only follow the rest of the instructions then.

I've noticed the same and did not understand all the different loops either. I came across this thread which helped me understand more of it, including the removal of residual files/directories.

In particular this reply by @Dentraq

Check list of installed snaps: sudo snap list --all
Remove all of installed snaps: sudo snap remove snapname (for core snap also use a --revision revision_number option)
Remove a snapd by sudo eopkg rmf snapd
List all /dev/loop devices currently mounted by snap: sudo mount | grep snap | awk '{print $3}'
Unmount this devices by sudo umount device_name
Remove snap directory: sudo rm -rf /var/lib/snap && sudo rm -rf /snap
Remove all files that used to mount a snap packages from /var/lib/snapd/snaps to /snap on the boot:
sudo find /etc/systemd/system -name "snap-*.mount" -delete sudo find /etc/systemd/system -name "snap.*.service" -delete sudo find /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants -name "snap-*.mount" -delete sudo find /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants -name "snap.*.service" -delete
Reboot, and that's all. You're perfect.

Antoine Then why are you surprised that listing the installed snaps lists nothing? Of course if you haven't installed any snaps that command will say exactly that. Just remove snapd, if you're so inclined, and be done with it.

Finally remove the directory it creates in your home directory:
rm -rf ~/snap/"

Antoine You should really not be messing around in /dev. It doesn't sound like you understand what you're seeing in there, those are kernel interfaces and unrelated to snap.
