Here's the problem. You can change a lot of stuff (spoof stuffs, fonts, screen res, etc etc) but you can't change everything.
I think I have given up the pursuit of perfection and I am privacy-concerned too.
I recently posted a journal article written by three grad students who devised a program that can identify the same individual across 3 browsers at the same time with all different extensions...with something like 96% accuracy.
If you use first-party isolation on cookies like I do, or otherwise container them. now that means [insert swear word here].
Go to browserleaks, for instance. They have 10 different pages to toggle thru which shows you every inch of your browser. I am usually locked down pretty tight (I love you, Umatrix). For the majority of those pages they can't see sh** about the broswer/me. But on several pages they have my life story. IP address, real location, real screen resolution despite the crappy settings in the crappy addon...and geoenabled set to false...
the success of tracking is those unchangeable things methinks. I will never stop wanting Alphabet and Co to stop following me. I will want to be left alone til the day I day, online. But I wonder if the battle is lost. Or they want me to believe the battle is lost. Either way I guess I'll go down swinging like you🙂.
I am going to check out those links later today.
