Hello there,

I have been trying to find some up to date information about what default theme is for solus budgie. But I'm not really trusting what my searching has come up with. I also have some additional questions surrounding this:

Is it still plata?

If is is, why is there both plata-noir and the dark theme toggle?

Again if it is plata, where is the official repo for that? I found some diferent ones but they all seem a bit aged.

What is the deal with Built-in-theme?

Thank you to anyone who can help with answering some of these questions or lead my in the right direction.

hakimjonas Materia-Dark is reccomended and it might even ship OOTB with it. I just did an install and I couldn't tell you! We usually personalize as soon as install.

The default theme is still Plata in the "current" (i.e. 4.3) ISO. There was a change to Materia in the meantime but this will only go live when new ISOs are created.

The "Dark Theme" toggle only affects certain parts of the desktop (Budgie Menu, Budgie Desktop Settings, etc.) and can be used with an otherwise "light" theme.

The Plata theme is no longer being developed, so the correct one was probably among those old repos you found.

hakimjonas What is the deal with Built-in-theme?

Just some styling that is built into the Budgie Desktop itself, independent from the selected GTK widget theme. Visible on the panel and in the menu.
