I don't know why i've install it but when i type code . code no command find.
There is a similar command to code . for kate ?

vscode definitely should work. Try reinstalling it: sudo eopkg install --reinstall vscode

Andoine, many differences between Vscodium and Kate are to be expected. Vscodium is an Integrated Development Environment, or IDE, and Kate is the KDE Advanced Text Editor. You'll typically find a lot of features in an IDE that are not in an editor.

I don't use an IDE on Linux, but it sounds like you just don't have Codium installed properly. I might be able to help you with that, but I need some answers from you first. Are you working on a school computer or your own at home? Since Kate is part of the KDE suite, I assume you're using Solus with the Plasma desktop. Is that right?

Did you use the Software Center to install Codium, or did you use the eopkg package manager from the terminal command line? If the latter, what command did you use in order to install Codium? I'm surprised that you could find the auto-completion feature in Codium if it's not installed right, but I'll try to help.

WetGeek I always use terminal when i can to install soft or do what I need to do I use vscode instead of vscode for non telemetry from microsoft but for solusos there is only code in the repo...

WetGeek I don't use an IDE on Linux

I tried installing it, and figured out that the real name of the IDE is just vscode. That said, if you are trying to install from the terminal, the command to use would be sudo eopkg it vscode. I just used that command to install it here, and that worked well.

It installed in the menu as this:

You should be able to launch it from there with no problem. I couldn't launch it from the terminal, with the names "code" or "vscode." I suggest you just start it from the menu, which worked for me.

WetGeek after reinstall it and find code-oss instead of code that weird but guess what. it's working 🙂

Antoine Solus calls the package for Visual Studio Code vscode, but the vscode package installs an executable called code-oss. Can be confusing! To launch from terminal, you would type code-oss

Distributions do not agree on what names Visual Studio Code should use. Some call the package code
