tuxlover4 Could you use someone to moderate the forums in general i.e. make sure the fourm rules are being obeyed, answer general questions , help out when needed with off topic subjects etc. I just want to contribute .

You can answer questions and help out when needed with off-topic subjects right now, as many of us do. Just start participating in the forum. No need for moderator status to contribute to the forum.

Likewise brent! Was concerned about you and wetgeek. I jumped onto the IRC soon after the accident. Hoped to see you guys there. Glad all worked out in the end ! ๐Ÿ™‚

elfprince I did sign up to Element Matrix (it's one of those two) but I have no idea how to use it. It appears to be just a host of worldwide IRC meetings.. Solus has like 5 different rooms. I did lurk. I wil look for you there down the road and you can bring me into this century๐Ÿ™‚

brent Reason why I like the forums is because the posts stay put, and not scroll away from you. Easy to find. Matrix is like that screen in the movie 'Matrix', with all those scrolling characters. Can't keep track easily! lol

From experience, it is usually done the other way around: you participate, you demonstrate your personality, your skills, your behaviour, and only then the people in charge will contact you themselves if they require your help for this task.

I think the major problem we had in the forum most of the time in the past was getting off-topic..rofl
Otherwise its a most enjoyable place for learning
(Guilty) The forum seems be unlike most forums just like solus os

elfprince yes that is exactly what i mean. I always found it dishearting especially since the manual most of the time contained instructions the average PC user does not understand . also telling a new user to read the manual usually ended up discouraging them and even lead a few leaving Linux and going back to Windows or Mac or whatever os they were using in the past.

Yep, it's all very democratic so to speak.
Love it - every single one can share their knowledge and/or ask questions!
