There is a very annoying issue with YouTube videos previews in the Song of the day thread. Many videos are without previews:

I guess it's Flarum issue, bcs some videos I posted before (months ago) had a previews 100%.

I've also noted that when I've clicked to view a post, an image of the video flashed on the screen, quickly followed by this page. They want their page hits, for sure. 😆

That's annoying bcs I often click on the song based on video preview! Now I could miss a very good song! 😢
Also some particular users do not include the Song Title so without a preview there is no way to know what the song title is.. 😾️

It's no accident. This way, they get their page click whether you want to watch the video or not.

I think it's not a Flarum thing, but YouTube has just restricted its embeds more on auto-generated videos.

[deleted] Actually an extension had them rendered 'unavailable' for me pre-crash. removed extension had all video access.
but now almost all of them tragically look like that at my beloved Song of the Day...and I concur...read something about some revamped Alphabet treachery lately. also affected yt-dlp for a while earlier this year til patched.

Solarmass It may be YouTube applies some automatic restrictions. It looks like every auto-generated song isn't unavailable for embed, so I wonder if there's a pattern based on the publisher.

[deleted] before the crash I wasn't seeing (I'm in USA) any Euro-posted songs. So there were (are?) regional restrictions on top of the auto-generated restrictions and if youtube plays its cards right it will someday be a totally blacked out restricted thread of mp3s with winamp skin equalizer graphics. we live in great times🙂

I wonder if there is a way to bypass this on Flarum, or using another YouTube instance where embed videos work 🤔

disable embedding? I wonder how easy that setting is to find in one's yt account? a yt warning would be nice somewhere so peeps wouldn't be wasting their time linking dead stuff (if this is correct). All these mystery restrictions messing up my favorite thread and personal jukebox...
...now how hard is it to hit the "play in youtube" button and launch another tab so i can listen to it? not hard at all. but dammit Jim, it's the principle of thread 😲

So I googled a bit today and found this thread

in the post 350 there was a solution to edit config.php:
