penny-farthing I would guess this is because by default, Nemo does view preferences per folder. So if you've already opened a folder at one zoom level, that gets saved, and it keeps using that. You can try to enable this option in the Behavior tab in Preferences, but it still seems weird sometimes:
Switching from Budgie Desktop View to Nemo Desktop

penny-farthing Do you mean the actual folder icons have mismatching sizes or are there something like generated thumbnails in the mix?
[deleted] When I went from 150% to 200%, "Personal Folders" stay in 150%, "Documents" changed to 200%, "Music" stay in 150%, "Pictures" changed to 200% (and "Videos" too (it seems to remind me)).
When I came back from 200% to 150%, it had no effect.
So I recreated my account user and I configured at 150% the parameter of icon view.
It's just after I noticed the button to adjust the zoom level per folder.
Hoping I have been more clear,
Regards.

penny-farthing Okay nvm then. I think I misread the issue completely
No problem. I'm not English, so I do my best to express myself in this language.
Isn't the main thing to participate? (Solus is well worth it.)
Just something I found interesting about Nemo ...
I stopped using Solus for my daily-driver laptop, and installed Kubuntu in its place, because apparently it's the only way I can get access to VirtualBox 7.04, which I intend to use every day. But that's another issue.
Using Dolphin on Ubuntu products has never given me access to my NAS shares, and I've just settled for accessing them from a terminal when I've needed something. Today it occurred to me to try using Nemo instead, so I installed it and damned if it didn't work!
All I need to do is use a password at the beginning of each session, and I can access all the shares and all their contents. I've had the permissions issue on varous distros that I've explored, and I'm now tempted to just install Nemo on them next time it happens.
Another thing: I checked the "Sort folders before files" option in Nemo's preferences, and indeed, folders appear well before files.
But when I want to move a file from one folder to another, the contents of the selected folder appear, in alphabetical order of course, with the files and folders mixed in, why?
WetGeek Today it occurred to me to try using Nemo instead, so I installed it and damned if it didn't work!
I don't know whether this matters to anyone else, but since I made this statement, I thought I should tell why I removed Nemo and replaced Dolphin. Then stopped using that laptop, except as a backup device.
Nemo did indeed give me access to remote folders, allowing me to enter a password to gain that access. But the file manager is also pressed into service by other application. E.g., choosing a destination for exporting an address book from Thunderbird, or accessing the Downloads folder to receive a downloaded .ISO file. For such purposes, it doesn't prompt for password access and thus doesn't work at all.
Since VirtualBox 7.x is to be in next week's sync, I'll just keep waiting, and put up with 6.1 until then. I just didn't want to give the impression that Nemo was the solution to all my file manager problems, as I first thought.
penny-farthing Any screenshots or gif of how exactly do you move file?
Solarmass So, I right click on the file I want to move in Nemo, then on Browse, and there I select the Documents folder, and this is what I get:
Do you have any idea how to fix this?
NB. I would like to point out that, quite recently, I had the same problem with Nautilus. It has since been fixed, without any intervention from me (perhaps, following a system update ?)

What item in the context menu do you select? Copy? And on that screenshot it's not Nemo, I think it's Nautilus folder selection dialog window?

Maybe this?
(I don't have your problem of order with my pc)
Yes, I did start from Nemo, and as explained above, right click on the file selected, then Move to, then Browse... to end up to the screen (where I selected Documents) reported on this post.
No idea ?
FAb7D This option is already selected.

penny-farthing No, I'm sorry

penny-farthing gotcha! Move to
item was disabled for me.
Folders are on top for me, my settings:
BTW have you tried another method:
cut the file > open destination folder > paste the file
Solarmass I have the same settings like you (except for the icon view which I prefer).
Regarding your suggestion, indeed, in this way, the display is correct.
But I must admit that I was so used to using "Copy to..." or "Move to...".
Must I uninstall Nautilus ? (I haven't done it)
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to try to help me during these exchanges.
I think that, like some users, I will consider reinstalling my system with the new ISO v.4.4 when it will be released.
