noise617 Hi, Has anyone tried DWM on Solus? Are there maybe ready-made DWM configs that make it look functional and clean, and don't require a lot of additional setup, like Budgie panels kind of?
Brucehankins @elfprince has tried a few different window managers on Solus I think, not sure if DWM is one of them.
elfprince Brucehankins I tried IceWM, Openbox, and have settled on JWM for quite a while now. Yes, it has a panel and a config file. Need to use .xinitrc config file and get it started with startx command.
elfprince brent For some reason, I am not quite impressed with OB. I don't like the way its config files work. Feels cumbersome. Just my 1 cent.
viyoriya I did try few WM's (search here you can see the screenshot ) Catwm, FrankenWM, MonsterWM with lemonbar as panel i3, spectrWM, DWM and SOWM now using DWM and modified catWM for reference you can check my dotfiles dotfiles
DrunkenAlcoholic I have tried a few WM on Solus and have posted some of the install guides on Reddit, some WM's include AwesomeWM, SpectreWM, LeftWM and a couple more that I can't remember right now, but typically no issues to work your way through an installation with WM's, most of them will work unless they have a weird dependency that can't be installed from source
