How install Surfshark VPN on Solus?

Hello,
is it possible to install Surfshark on Solus ? (SOLUS 4,3 fortitude)
I found only this:

and found the file surfshark-release_1.0.0-2_amd64.deb
but after I don't know what to do.
It's only for DEBIAN 11 or higher, UBUNTU 20.04 or higher and MINT 20?

Is it possible to install Surfhark on Solus? Or I have to choose another vpn, like Nordvpn?

is interesting. see no installation instructions solus-specific in forum search but I do see a lot about surfshark and it appears many forum members use it. maybe one will pipe up.

You may not need to install.

It might be possible to use Surfshark VPN via the OpenVPN client, which is in the repository. It also appears that Surfshark is available as a plugin/extension for Firefox and Chromium-based browsers.

Like @brent, I can see from the forum that many folks use Surfshark with Solus, so I hope that one of them will comment and get you up and running.

Yeah, that's what Kyrios helped the guy do in that link I furnished. I agree with you--that may be all he needs is Kyrios' method.

I have follow the method with openvpn of https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011051133-How-to-set-up-OpenVPN-using-Linux-Terminal
until the last step with success ( Initialization Sequence Completed)
But when I do the test, I'm always out of SurfShark...

maybe I do a mystake while installing the configuration file in a home/ personal folder?

Firefox extension seems to be fine, but I would like to have vpn for whole computer (thunderbird, other navigators...). I install the extension, but still no surfshark "protection.
With openvpn used like in https://support.surfshark.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011051133-How-to-set-up-OpenVPN-using-Linux-Terminal , do I have to restart openvpn for each session of Solus, or the vpn configuration start each time automatically? (in the case it works)

re-read that link I gave you. config folder needs to be created in /etc not /home as I read it (could be wrong). that's the best I got. you say its working fine but you want to extend its protection to all things that connect to internet? (i.e. Thunderbird). For all things that you connect to the internet that all depends on if there are sharky addons available for all the things you connect to the internet.**
I wonder if your auto restart issue has to do with you creating a systemctl .service?

I tried the manual method in terminal, but surfshark still not work.
I wrote to surfshark support, and they talked about a method with internet router.

Seems to be difficult and slowed down the connection. So I'm going to cancel my trial contract.

David26 Try using NordVPN. Pretty simple. They have a tutorial on their website for installation on Linux.

Harvey showed how to configure the vpn inside the newwork manager among others. Not sure op tried that. lots of ideas on how to make nord/other vpn work in that one

elfprince - Ok thanks. I'm going to test Proton VPN too, first their free version to see it it is working.

I confirm that ProtonVPN is easy to install, because a GUI can be download by Solus directly.
And the protonvpn-cli is available too in Solus.

ProtonVPN seems to worf fine, I'm going to test it a few days in the free version, I think I will pay for ProtonVPN-plus, it's a little more expensive than NordVPN, but protonvpn seems easier to install.
