tomscharbach I just can't figure out why Haiku has taken that approach, because it seems incompatible with gaining any sort of adoption in the current desktop market.

It's probably because of their BeOS heritage. Perhaps once Haiku come to their senses, they'll come up with a theme that's more modern. Maybe Windows 8?

BTW: I just got my new media machine installed and configured today. It's a refurbished OptiPlex 7050. That's quite an upgrade over the HP consumer desktop it replaces. Now our computer hardware here is 86% DELL, and 100% Solus Plasma.

Well, that explains why I'm humming the opener from Corner Gas.

Right. Because 20% is one fifth of 100%, a number divisible by 5 that results in a whole number. 5/5=1, 10/5=2, 15/5=3 and so on.

I'm pushing it at 5 right now (well, 6 if you count the Optiplex 7050 Micro that I keep in a drawer and bring out from time to time to build "portable M.2" drives, but the 7050 doesn't have an installed OS, so it might not count). I'm guessing that I could go as high as 7-8 before the threats of murder started rumbling too loudly. Take heed. You are at 7 already. 🤣
