PCLinuxOS KDE Plasma - Revisited, Summary
Finally it's done. In the image below, you can see the final version of my PCLinuxOS Plasma VM.

In the bottom panel, from left to right, are the main menu, the quick launch widget, the icon-only task manager, a panel spacer, eight virtual workspaces, a second panel spacer, and the usual system tray and date/time. In the virtual workspaces, from left to right, are Thunderbird, Vivaldi, Spider solitaire (shown), Shisen-sho, Mahjongg, an empty workspace for launching a miscellaneous application, Dolphin, and Konsole.
This is almost identical to how my daily-driver laptop is set up. The only real difference is that my laptop has two additional workspaces. There's one that I use for the VirtualBox manager and the other is where I run VMs, usually at full-screen.
All of these applications are fully configured, and together they comprise a computer (albeit a virtual one) that I could use as a daily driver. One could read and send email, browse web sites, play various games, and use the file manager and terminal as needed.
Overall, this has been one of the more successful VMs I've created from a non-Solus .ISO file. Its creation, from beginning to end, was virtually without any serious issues. I can truly say that if I were ever forced to give up Solus, I could use PCLinuxOS KDE Plasma without needing to change how I use a computer in any way.
