Sorry the "family friendly" section went over my head but here's my Linux YT rundown lol.
I actually would not suggest Linux Youtube, it's littered with misinformation and clickbait. Here's Chris Titus Tech confidently saying Fedora is a rolling release and never correcting himself. Very opinionated, very stern and not always sensibly. Made a terrible Arch install script and grew an ego, etcetc. The Linux Cast host has admitted he will title his videos and thumbnails with "best" or "greatest ever" instead of passing it off as an opinion ie "my favorite", solely because it "gets less views" that way. 90% of these Linux YT channels are inept on the inner workings of Linux and are solely end users fanboying their favorite distros etc. InfinitelyGalactic for example, entry level Linux user making entry level Linux content but passing it off as meta information.
I'm usually all for different types of content and finding new channels but Linux YT is one thing is have to look away from, it can be so infuriating to see sometimes. Even the well-intentioned ones who make nice content such as Techhut, sometimes say things that are just inaccurate and Linux is a niche where it won't really get called out on, so misinformation gets spread this way. There aren't many out there who make Linux YT content for their own sake or for helpful things, but just have a platform to promote themselves.
gotbletu is the best Linux YouTuber of all time IMO. Simple and effective videos dating back to when I was a teen, he's still at it and with a passion for Linux. Veronica Explains makes great Linux videos also with a passion for it. But if you're willing to depart the high horse and just watch someone talk and opinionate about Linux, Brodie Robinson is okay and showcases at least some knowledge and useful information, and has been doing interviews with big FOSS people. He's still quite clickbaity in the same realm of LinuxCast and will consider things the all around "best" instead of his "favorite" but at least he has sources and explanations to back his opinions up. Kent's Tech World is okay makes nice commentary, but be prepared for some hot takes. Mental Outlaw is an OG who has hobbies outside of Linux too. Nicco Loves KDE is a KDE dev who makes great videos. GloriousEggroll covers bleeding-edge software for gaming performance. Gardiner Briant aka Linux Gamer the OG bad Linux Youtuber, has gotten better and more knowledgeable but he remains the clickbait cringe King, with the goofy WHAAAtt!!? type thumbnails with the questions marks and funny faces, you know the kind. The Linux Experiment is instant cringe and has no idea what he's talking about but acts like he does, spewing misinformation with every "Linux News" segment, as if he reads headlines of Linux articles then guesses what they mean. Switched to Linux is okay but I recall once during the height of the pandemic he saw someone with a mask on the Linux Mint website and he FREAKED OUT in the video and got all mad so he's probably a little bigoted. Distrotube is, well...
Distrotube is distrotube lol.
Sorry "family friendly" I only just remembered was the focus here. I don't think any of them are family friendly besides maybe Techhut. There's also this channel that covers Mint related things, it's this guys' kids who "host" the channel clearly reading off scripts behind the camera, it's super creepy like Stockholm Syndrome I swear.
