WetGeek I wasn't able to get GNOME and MATE installed successfully at the time

Today I got that done. I had to use Solus 4.2 .ISO files for both GNOME and MATE, but I got them both installed onto VMs, updated, Vivaldi installed and sync'd, Terminology installed and configured, and symbolic links created to link the NAS shares to my /home folder. Now I'm finally completely recovered from my laptop crash.

    I didn't realise the team was so small for this distro. Keep up the good work it's amazing and works perfectly on my low powered Lenovo 120s Laptop. The Budgie edition is my fav by far 😄 .

    WetGeek Agree completely. I for one appreciate the stability this process brings. I can't count the number of times that a bad update that got other "big name" distros, we completely avoided due to the team's diligence. This is VERY much appreciated.

      Update: After first tentatively moving the sync date to "later" 🙂 it's now planned to do the big sync on Friday, 14th of October (or Saturday, depending on your timezone and the particulars of the sync).

            I guess it will be, Oct 14th in the Americas, Oct 15th in Europe, as usual. Anyways, good news. 😄

              Solarmass Technically, for my Indian timezone, I have always got the update on saturdays, or on few occasions, friday night.

                Apologies for the sync being a little late tonight. I'm still getting over COVID and wanted to give the team a chance to iron out any remaining wrinkles from the GNOME upgrade. Cheers.

                  Well, seems like they didnt figure out all the wrinkles..Dark theme not sticking to Nautilus is one..

                    Silversurfer Unfortunately we've been in a position were we didn't want to delay the updates any further (seeing as we also had some existing issues in the stable repository; e.g. the evolution out-of-memory problem mentioned in a different thread), while the whole GNOME libadwaita didn't really have a short term solution available, forcing us to bite the bullet. Here's to hoping we can deal with at least part of the resulting problems until the next sync.
