Spec I was a Solus user and I am in the Forum for the last few months reading.

Do I have to copy-paste my previous comment here so you can read it again?
Insinuating things just because an account is new is not great for a community.

I would say our conversation ends here.

I have a question, are we going to get an update today? Or will it be delayed? Please don't feel pressured, just do what it's best for the distro.

@WetGeek A quiet comment: I started using Solus in 2017. I read the forum frequently between 2017 and 2020, but did not join the forum (October 2020) until I had a question about the possibility of adding Microsoft Edge to the Third Party repository (Josh said "Nope"). I suspect that this forum has many readers who have never joined. Spec apparently is one of them.

        Thank you.

Plus I just wrote because I understand German and reacted to that german Comment (no sure if all the dislikers understand it).
Like I said, I want Solus to be successful and the Devs to be happy and not under pressure all the time.
And in my opinion (cause that's what it is: an opinion) users (especially new and potential users) should know how the future looks.
Every user is also a potential contributer - never forget that.

Solus is shaped by its users. Hear my story. I've been Microsoft client for quite a long time. I mean I bought half a dozen of Windows licenses, a few of Windows Mobile, and don't get me started how much money I spent on Microsoft products overall. Then Windows as a service happened. And my interests were betrayed, even if I contacted Microsoft support I could never had any influence. Then I found Solus, where any constructive input was considered and often accepted! It grew on me, and I started contributing, it's my home now :-). @Spec You're welcome in the community, as long as you focus on situations and not on people. It is possible to guide Solus where You want it to be, so chose appropriately.

^^ this, but you will always have someone occasionally snide you/spite you when you try to help them; it's the nature of the beast (global online forum). shake hands and see eye to eye is always the best resolution like this one.

you are a man of eternal mystery🙂...

brent you are a man of eternal mystery

Nah. I joined the Solus forum, somewhat reluctantly, because I had a question about Microsoft Edge that wasn't answered in the forum, so I joined to ask the question. I got a direct response from Josh, even if it wasn't the answer I wanted. I posted about the Microsoft Edge Flatpak a few times, and then bit by bit started to get more involved.

I'm not a "forum person". I used Ubuntu 2006 to 2017 and never joined or participated in the Ubuntu forum(s), for example. I joined the Ubuntu Budgie forum because I had a question to ask there, too, and I was an active member of the MEI forum for a couple of years to try to push Microsoft into supporting Edge on Linux. But otherwise, pretty much not.

I wonder if members of the Solus community are mindful of how decent the people who post on this forum are to one another. We see someone come in from time to time and act like a jerk, but I don't think I've seen more than a handful of personal flame wars on this forum over the last couple of years. That is very unusual for Linux forums, except for those that are heavily moderated. We are a good group.

              Agreed. That we are. 😄

The weekly or longer update cycle is welcome, many thanks.

don't really need to add a word to your eloquent response except for when someone does wander in to smack me or someone else I immediately think one thing: they came from a place where it was normal behavior. That strengthens what you said above regarding this forum. We got it good.

joluveba Due to some last-minute issues and a couple of team members being unable to work for part of the week (in my case I had the 'rona and could barely leave my bed since Sunday) we will have to postpone the sync a bit more. But there's no final date yet. We will post here when a new sync date has been determined.

Staudey we will have to postpone the sync a bit more.

Huh? What did I use to update five computers this morning? There's more to come for this sync?

brent maybe you had a whirlwind of k-packages?

Could be, I suppose. All the computers here use Plasma for a DE. I realized that last week's sync was to be postponed, according to Beatrice, so I didn't even check for upgrades then. Today I just updated normally, and was surprised to find out just now that apparently there's more to come. It's a pleasant surprise, for sure.

WetGeek You can figure out what installed today by running sudo eopkg history if you are interested.

brent sudo eopkg up gave me nothing today or the last week. maybe you had a whirlwind of k-packages?

I also use Solus KDE, and no updates this week for me either. Either WetGeek's computers had pending updates, or he's the favourite of the Solus team! 😆

Staudey No bothers. I hope your fully recovered. The ol 'rona is no fun.

Yet another mystery solved. That's a very interesting eopkg command that I'd never needed or used before. It was able to show me that on 2022-10-08 I'd installed a large number of upgrades, but none for what would have been the previous sync.

joluveba Either WetGeek's computers had pending updates

Indeed. That's the first time I appear to have skipped an update when I normally do them, and afterwards forgot all about it. It must have been a very busy Saturday morning.

If I remember right, you commented in another thread that you crashed your laptop and were having issues with reinstalling your VM's . Maybe you missed an update in the commotion. Who knows?
