WetGeek By the way, Artemis was the twin sister of Apollo, in case anyone's interested. That might suggest a connection between the Apollo project and the Artemis project, all these years later.
Artemis and Apollo are both portrayed in ancient art as archers.
I remember looking at the moon, captivated and entranced, in December 1968, when Apollo 8 was orbiting the moon. I was in the service at the time, and missed the moon landing itself, although I later saw recorded footage.
Years later, I saw a small sliver of moon rock embedded in a stained glass window at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel at the University of Chicago.
I know that you are also of an age to remember what an enormous step putting men on the moon seemed to us at the time. My kids, born to a world when the moon landing was old hat, never gave it much thought.
