Failure to modprobe kvm or kvm-intel

Good afternoon all!

I am trying to properly configure some VMs through virt-manager, however I am running into an interesting issue. So, I am working on a GIGABYTE laptop that uses intel VT-x. I have working VMs, however the kernel modules for kvm are not properly loading.
lsmod | grep kvm
returns >>> nothing
sudo modprobe kvm
returns >> ERROR: could not insert 'kvm' : unknown symbol in module, unknown parameter (see dmesg)
demsg | grep kvm
returns >> [ 3226.680582] kvm: Unknown symbol irq_bypass_unregister_consumer (err -2)
[ 3226.680690] kvm: Unknown symbol irq_bypass_register_consumer (err -2)

Any thoughts? I've been scratching my head the last couple hours.

Additional notes: I installed lkvm, virtmanager, and qemu and their dependencies

What does ls /lib64/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/arch/x86/kvm/* show? I have a kvm.ko and kvm_intel.ko kernel module there.

I have no idea why modprobe is not cooperating

still returns nothing

It may be failing to load them as something is still not configured right in your BIOS? Not sure where to go from here to find out why they're not loading. Try dmesg or journalctl, one of those might give you logs that indicate kvm issues.

Axachi I didn't see kvmgt in mine but it does seem to be enabled, "m" is module load, not forced load so it should load if needed I believe.
