Manjaro Plasma
As I thought, this will be a shorter review than the last, because much of what I said about Manjaro Budgie applies here as well. Same kernel, and the same in other important respects -- just different DEs.
As in Solus, the Plasma DE is the "leaner" one. These are valid comparisons, as I made sure that both the Budgie and Plasma versions had most of the same software installed, and were configured the same. The only difference was Thunderbird installed on the Plasma edition, complete with two email accounts and a couple of Google calendar accounts -- just like on the laptop host.
I didn't spend the time to test everything that I did with the Budgie version, because I'm pretty confident that what I didn't test would work just as well on Plasma as it did on Budgie. That is, I didn't watch any motorcycle races, for example, but I did play several sessions of the games, visited both forums (this is my first post to this one from back on the laptop), and pretty much did whatever else I usually do on an ordinary day.
My opinion of Manjaro hasn't changed at all. I'm more than ever convinced that if anything ever happens to Solus, I'd be able to change over to Manjaro Plasma with only a few tears shed for my former favorite distro.
The Solus Plasma is version 5.25.3, while the Manjaro version is 5.24.6. Whatever differences there may be, I didn't notice anything. I'll keep these two Manjaro VMs around for a while, in case anybody has a question I haven't answered, but this ends my daily-driver test of them.
