There are probably millions more like me. I was born in a city, grew up in a city, was educated in a city, worked in a city, moved to a better city, and that's where I am today. I know what a sceptic tank is, and what it does, but one's never been a part of my life.
It might actually benefit a lot more of us urbanites to follow that mantra, water shortage or not. I know my water/sewage bill is based on the amount of water we use. I argued at one time that the water we use keeping the lawn and garden alive, or washing the car, has nothing to do with the sewers, but I didn't get anywhere with that.
I'm guessing that if a lot of us who don't need to adopt that regimen did so anyway, it could save us a lot of money. Until our rates were raised due to less demand.
That's what happened to us during that period that I mentioned, and I don't recall that they ever went down subsequently.
