WetGeek Interesting statistics. Apple claims a global market share of about 15%, which is significantly lower than whatever statistics you are quoting. The US market is different, of course, as you point out. In the US market, the iPhone market share hovers around 50%, give or take, depending on the quarter.
To my mind, 50-odd % is a significant market share in the US, but I base my decisions on my use case rather than market share. If I based my decisions on market share rather than my use case, I'd be using Windows (80% market share) and Chrome (65% market share). Vivaldi, which has so low a market share as to be insignificant wouldn't make the cut to even consider.
Be that as it may, and recognizing that I may be alone in wanting to be able to use a browser cross-platform among my devices (laptop, desktop, phone) my use case rules out Vivaldi. For you that is not an impediment. For me, it is. Enough said, I think.
WetGeek Thank goodness that we can all buy and use what we believe works best for us.
Just to be clear, I have no argument with those who wish to embrace the Google/Android ecosystem. I prefer not to follow that path.
