Does solus have a gui to install flatpaks through flathub?
Does solus have a gui to install flatpaks?

Not currently but I think its going to be incorporated into the new gui software app when they get round to it, probably wont be done until they replace the eopkg package manager with SOL

As seanragout said, it's in the works.
The CLI command to install is generally listed near the bottom of the page on Flathub, so it should be a simple copy and paste to install.
You will have to manually update though. To update flatpak apps it's a simple flatpak update
and then y
after you review or flatpak update -y
to immediately process updates without reviewing the list first. It will still show the list and update progress, you just don't have to verify that you want all of the apps updates.

Brucehankins not sure I'd use it if we had it, it seems so easy and intuitive with the cli.
I have to blow dust off the digital equivalent of a 3X5 notecard to remember the update/remove unused command now and then. I'd assume the UI would be a manager rather than simple UI to look at.

flaptak gui as a flatpak project or flatpak gui as a Solus project to be built into Sol? or both? didn't catch the nuance in what you said (will confess to not researching it).

I actually prefer CLI. GUI store such as the ones incorporated in Zorin OS or Pop OS are cluttered and sometime confusing. Now let's say I want to install X app, so I go on and search for it in the said store and I find 3 results for the app I search for. One is flatpak, one is snap and the other is the one from the repository. I do not want that and I prefer the store to only have the apps available in the official repositories.
As other have mentioned, it is very simple to head to https://flathub.org and search for the apps you need and copy the installation command and paste in terminal. Anyway, terminal will show you what is really going on, which is not the case when using a GUI. If you install a flatpak app for the first time, it will take a very long time and most user would think that installation is stuck.
To install it on Solus you'll have to download the tar binary or the AppImage version. The AppImage version should be easier to install and get running, but it isn't as simple as software in the offical repo.
Hi.
Any news on this topic?
I am looking at deploying Solus to users not at all familiar with the command line and being able to get some packages from Flatpak is required.
Thanks
Hi. Sorry to bump it because of my ignorance, potentially. Where can I get more info on the progress of this?
Thanks.
There is no progress indicator. It is ready when it is deemed to be ready. There is no way it will be looked at before 4.5 is out tho.
