Anyone here using Mullvad?

Thoughts? I see there is a client in the repo, so I'm assuming it is popular and would be easy to set up.

Ok so I went ahead and installed the app and created an account. It's cheap, you can pay by the month, so I thought I'd at least try it out.

The app launches, but it is stuck on "Connecting to Mullvad system service... " Been like that for a good while now. Any ideas?

don't you have to 'add a vpn' thru the desktop lan/wireless icon thingy widget? and configure it manually before using client? spitballin.

Poking around more, looks like it was supposed to install things to folders but that never happened. Wondering if the Solus port for the app is just broken.

Poked around a bit, found the logs. Looks like this didn't install correctly. Pathing and/or daemon not starting? Any ideas on how to fix this?

zmaint plasma has no settings to set up a vpn?

somehow I don't think its as simple as installing an app. I thought vpns took manual configuring. but maybe I'm wrong.

brent The only VPN related setting in the network gui is Connect to VPN Automatically, which is checked. I have the firewall off. The Mullvad app daemon doesn't look like it was ever installed, and the folders were never created.
TBH I have no idea how to use Mullvad manually, I'm a VPN noob (other than some AnyConnect usage for work). Mullvad generates you a random number for an account number, and then links that to whether or not you have access.... that appears to be an integral function of the app. I actually like it because it seems to increase anonymity.

Was at their webpage for a while. Nowhere in all my reading did Mullvad refer to itself as a 'client'----makes me think the Solus app is a companion to ? something you don't have?
There's got to be forum info in search bar methinks.

No idea where I found this:

Run the following commands after installation:

sudo systemctl start mullvad-daemon
sudo systemctl enable mullvad-daemon

Then open the app and add your account number.

I am using it and it's working great and dit what riffer did.
