Here's an artwork I made for a Blender 3d competition for the month of May. Because I was working with a ship, it made me think of Solus, but of course I created this on my Solus Budgie desktop with the FOSS program Blender. "Sail3695: Catch the Ketch"

And the AO pass:

Wow, that looks fantastic! I love the coloring of the sky.

Bhibb A- loved the absolute insane unsettling pitch of the ocean and the ship and the colors. A- because make the monster scarier. Looked kind of friendly in the one-color picπŸ™‚

EbonJaeger Thank you! Yeah the sky was a lot of fun to make. When I began this project, the sky was a dull gray with some white breaking through. A friend of mine pointed out that artists often depict the stormy sea with whites and grays and recommended finding some color. That advice sent me in the warmer direction and I'm pretty happy with the end result. Thanks for your comment!

brent Ha, I think you're right about that! The ocean is definitely roiling, which made adding the sea serpent all the more fun. I've never been on the ocean like this, so I took some artistic license for certain πŸ˜ƒ.

Bhibb For the stuff I've been reading lately (Shackleton's polar expedition) I think the ocean you created mirrors the rough waters they had to navigate through in a vessel smaller than the solus ship. When I saw your ocean, the first thing I thought of was those sailors' descriptions.
