Font regression?

I'm not sure when this happened, but my fonts started to render poorly. See the difference between the font preview and how it is rendered in the other windows. Is it something changed in the GNOME stack or Budgie? Anyone else noticed this?

Side note: GNOME Screenshot also only captures the upper left corner of my screen (4K display) and leaves the rest black... this is something else that didn't use to happen. ☹️

Interesting, have you tried Budgie screenshot applet instead?

I think it's a meh (lo-res, choppy) rendering of Noto Sans Thin in my Font Preview app...as for the rest? I know exactly what you are getting at here---not as crisp and without that pop, otherwise ok. Unless we are both crazy.
PS--The picture above is "select" option but I was able to take a FullScreen picture in gnome-screenshot just now---it captured the whole screen. So could not replicate.
