Brave and ads in Raven

Hi all,
Brave browser is providing some ads, depending on how and where you browse.
Normally, these ads appears on a small notification window, where you can click and open the link.
For some reason, these ads are going directly into Raven's notifications without "warning".
Once there, there is no way you can click on it in order to open the link.
Any idea on how to change this behavior (on Brave or Raven) ?

It sounds like Brave might be pushing notifications outside the browser itself. As far as I know, that's changed behavior on Brave's part.

Three thoughts:

(1) Check Budgie Control Center > Notifications to see if Brave is listed as an app that can send notifications in Solus. If so, turn it off.

(2) Try turning off ads in Brave (Rewards Settings > Brave Ads = OFF) and see if that stops the behavior.

(3) If the notifications are coming from a specific website or a few specific websites, you might be able to block notifications (as in "Allow/Block Notifications") from those websites in Brave.

Thanks for your answer. It seems that your option 1 might be the one I need.
It just need to be confirmed by using Brave. I will let you know.
Just to be clearer, I would like these notifications to pop-up, but not directly in Raven in order for me
to be able to click the link inside it, as this is not possible in Raven. (hum, clearer, not sure !)

Does this happen every time? Are there any times when the popup does appear as expected? Is a popup shown and very quickly disappears? There aren't many cases where a notification goes straight to Raven, so I'm trying to narrow down what path it might be taking.

Yes, it happens everytime.
I was expecting the notification pop-up as when an email arrives for instance,
and then after few seconds, it goes to the Raven notification panel.
With Brave, there is no pop-up at all, the ads appears directly in the Raven notification panel.
I am doing diferrent test with options notification on and off, but nu success until now.

Patrice Just to make sure, you don't have anything fullscreen running (say, a game or video), and that Budgie/Raven is not in Do Not Disturb mode? (the notification icon should not be grayed out or appear disabled)

Brave is one of my daily drivers. I have not had anything resembling this behavior, ever, but I went nuclear in settings to acheive this. Do NOT just change one setting, change several. Dump rewards, dump wallet, dump all google services like safe browse, etc etc. Set to erase all 3rd party cookies etc. Something has a tentacle in your browser and it won't be hard to get rid of it imho

Hi all,
EbonJaeger , yes, I checked the Do Not Disturb mode, and I am not on it.
I also checked the FAQ Brave page (that refers to the full screen and all that you mentioned), and no, I don't tick
any of these boxes.
Solarmass 😆 yes, these ads are for the Brave rewards stuff.
Once again, ads are there as they go directly into Raven, it's just that the notification pop-up does not
appear. I tried with notification on or off in the System settings, but as far as I can see, no change yet.

@Patrice Sorry for the delay in addressing this, but I just made a pull request to Budgie that fixes this issue. It should be fixed for the next version of Budgie (10.7), whenever that comes out.

EbonJaeger Interesting. I did not notice your menu re-write proposal, that's exciting. Updated legacy tasklist--looking forward to that too. Thanks for being part of Budgie. I occasionally think "why don't you explore Mate or Plasma?" but I never do🙂.

Edit : as far as I can see, the Libreoffice bug is not sorted out yet.
