why solus name ?

Hi 🙂 I've a stupid question but. Why the name is "solus" ?

We asked many people for input on Google+, and after hundreds of suggestions we were still stuck for a new name. We’d like to thank everyone who helped in the process! One name came up time and time again, and that was ‘Solus’. For those who are unaware, SolusOS was the predecessor to “Evolve OS”. Not only do they share the same codebase, they also share the same project founder and core developer. It was quite natural to go back to this name, with the exception that we do not use the OS suffix now. From here on, the project is formally known as the Solus Project, shortened to Solus, which is the umbrella project for the Solus Operating System, the Budgie Desktop, and other projects.

The begets and begats: SolusOS was the predecessor of EvolveOS, which in turn was the predecessor of Solus.

I do too. I don't know if Ikey Doherty has this in mind, but "Solus" is a root-Latin word meaning "only" or "sole". In ancient texts, so I'm told, "Solus" refers to "the One and Only Good", and, just to make things even more mystical, the word "Solus" is closely related to the word "Sol", the personification of the Sun and a god in ancient Roman religion. Quite a lot lurking about in the name, apparently, whether Ikey Doherty knew it or not.

"Solus" is a root-Latin word I love that xD I saw for the word solus in Latin but not for the meaning of sol (sun)
Solace like the movie ?
