The sync will not occur this week. glibc rebuilds are still pending and due to an oversight there was a breakage. We have to wait until that is addressed until we can continue. Regardless sync was likely to be deferred anyway, 1,000 package rebuilds takes a long time and not every package would compile with the new glibc and required investigation and patching.
Also unless you disabled it the system alerts you to new updates so you never have to keep checking.
