Reseting theme on budgie

Well, since i used another OS with a separeted /home before installing Solus Budgie, seems like some things were messed up regarding themes, like the dots in the login screen that used to be white, now are black, i tried switch through budgie desktop configuration to Plata, but this especific part remain. Is there a way to reset de themes default config, like a new instalation without doing it ? If not it's ok. Thanks in advance

gnomo223 That's annoying. Not sure if this resets the theme, but I think it does.

budgie-panel --reset --replace &

I think it will reset all your customizations too however, so be prepared to go through those steps again.

gnomo223 I believe that's an issue with the theme being used. I already created an issue on their GitHub repository for it.

these are good replies. budgie-panel --reset --replace &! has worked for me twice (a kind user on this forum gave it to me) twice when the panel broke....warning: I lost all widgets, clock, date, start menu, widget order, and widget spacing. But getting the Budgie back was worth the 15-30 minutes of resetting stuff. Look at it this way: a new install could take a day to tweak the way you like it.

As for what SuperJC710e posted: I don't know what difference my exclamation point makes in my command vs. the one he furnished. Maybe it all comes out in the wash.

When it comes to logging in, it matches LightDM and exactly sudo lightdm-settings. Choose a new theme there.

You developed a second big problem alongside the broken desktop you have not attempted to fix?
Just do the budgie reset commands, rebuild your taskbar, and then check package integrity. Resetting the desktop will get you on the road to OS wellness.

brent Yep, trying to install a applet (a fork of budgie-sys-monitor in github) to monitor cpu and ram usage, with sucess in a vm but not in my computer, i had a really broken desktop and just removing the package didn't solve it. End up doing a full reinstall, but since i had a separated partition for my home didn't have any more problems.

anything goes when you bring the outside inside but

but that part makes no sense to me. Why would it function in VM and break computer when not in VM? Rhetorical question, I guess. I've seen weirder...
...and a new install with a shared /home fixed it? Wow. Take the victories where you can get them🙂. Congrats.
