I want to install the nvidia-beta-driver but when I search it in the terminal it has unsupported at the end of the description:

nvidia-beta-driver-32bit - 32-bit libraries for nvidia-beta-driver
nvidia-beta-driver-current - NVIDIA Beta Binary Driver (Current Kernel) (UNSUPPORTED)
nvidia-beta-driver-common - Shared assets for the NVIDIA Beta Driver
nvidia-beta-driver - NVIDIA Beta Binary Driver (UNSUPPORTED)

Unlike the developer version which i had installed but I want the beta drivers but now I am afraid to install them...should I be worried or does it mean it isn't the team's top priority?

Take this with a grain of salt, because it's my interpretation and not an official reply...however...
Given that's it a binary release, the distro maintainers know nothing about it and do not warrant it in any way, it may eat your cat or your hard drive. Choice to install is yours 😉

dbarron So...will it get updates still? The developer drivers don't have the unsupported thing but they didn't have smooth animations but had great fps in games like csgo.

Reptile Not a team developer, but what do you need from the beta drivers that isn't being met by the developer version you're currently using?

Scotty-Trees The developer drivers gave off a kinda choppy experience when dragging windows around and I was wondering if the beta ones would still give better performance than the default ones and provide smoother animations, but I am not against using the developer drivers but was wondering if it would be ok to use the beta ones

This just means if the beta driver goes bang you won't see the team rushing to support you as it's not as tested as the standard driver.

        [SOLVED]
I tried them got the worst fps ever...so I went with the stable and it is actually better now than before! 🙂
