Can't get Steam controller to work with native and bundled steam runtime

Hi guys so here's my issue which I cant seem to get fixed somehow:
When I am using the native steam runtime my steam controller is not recognized by steam at all. I can still use it for mouse navigation but steam doesnt recognize it as a steam controller.

When using the bundled runtime the controller is recognized with the small message popping up "using configs of MrKiwimoose" however with the bundled runtime I cant get the steam overlay to work(even shift+tab on keyboard) and ingame the controller also seems to not work correctly. This is with proton as well as linux native games...
When I launch it via terminal emulator on the bundled runtime I get the following when I plugin the controller:

Whereas in the native runtime I only get the last 2 lines and in the controller settings it says no controller connected.

Really hoping someone can help me here...

I found a small workaround to get everything to work properly. It's probably not a proper fix but using the native runtime and deactivating the intercept as well as the redirect library makes it so the steam controller is recognized and the steam overlay works ingame.

Kiwimoose Blocker696 How did you two accomplish this workaround of using the native runtime and deactivating the intercept? I'm having this issue, too and am not sure where to start.

I can canfirm this exact same issue with my steam controllers and steam runtime as well.
Also the mentioned workaround is solving the issue for me.

Ahh, I think I understand now. Are you referring to the Linux Steam Integration tool?

I see what you mean! By unchecking the intercept, now my Steam controller is working, thank you!

I have been using sc-controller (from the repos) to get around this. It's a pain to remake configs, but its nice not to have to troubleshoot the overlay all the time. If anyone wants to use it, I found that the right touchpad was really hard to dial in as the sensitivity gets shaky above a sensitivity of 3ish. To fix it, I recommend turning up smoothing to 14, and the weight to .90.

For me the situation is still unchanged. The recent steam update and general solus updates did not resolve the issue.
The workaround still works though.

Anyone got anything new about this problem?

Blocker696 This should get fixed for the Native Runtime disabled at least when this https://dev.getsol.us/D13230 gets accepted. This will fix the overlay in that case, making the Steam Controller now work.
But I didn't need any workarounds for the Native Runtime enabled, it has always worked for me without any workarounds. But at least it should be working with Native disabled.
If you wanted the fix now, here is the .eopkg, before the next friday sync.
