Switching application from all workspaces.

Hi
I am new to Budgie.
How do we set up keybinding to switch running applications in all workspaces ?
I tried custom keybinds in settings for:
switch applications switch windows
But both of these end up working only for apps active in current workspace.

I'm confused about what you mean by "swtich applications." I thought you might mean moving an application from one workspace to another, but it doesn't make sense when you add "all workspaces," so I still don't knowwhat you're looking for.

divyanshu I'm not sure I understand what you're looking for, but there are two things about workspaces:

To switch from one workspace to another, just hold the "super key" and press "Pg Up" and "Pg Down"
To move open windows/programs to another workspace, right-click on the respective icons on the toolbar and select the desired workspace

Suppose App1 is open in workspace1 and App2 in workspace2.
Now if i am in any of the workspaces, say Workspace3:
how do i switch to applications directly, like a keybind super + tab should show me all active apps from all workspaces(1 and 2).

Switching workspaces and then to desired app adds an extra step.

By switching i mean, as we do alt+tab in windows: shows active apps to switch to.

RicSense there are two things about workspaces

These moves must be DE-dependent. I just tried both on my Plasma laptop, and nothing happened either time.

I guess I'm not going to be able to help much -- you appear to do things with the keyboard that I simply do with the mouse.

I'm glad that you've found ways to do these things that work for you.

Hi,
There's a setting just for that. You'll find it in Budgie desktop settings, under Windows. The last setting in the list lets you switch between the two modes: all applications or only those on the active desktop.

Thank you! Now I understand what @divyanshu was talking about. I'd never turned that setting ON when I was using Budgie (it defaults to OFF), and had no idea how that feature was used. I did turn it on just now, and I better understand the original issue.

Apparently you have the answer for him. If it's a question of his keyboard shortcuts affecting all applications in all workspaces instead of just the current workspace, apparently he might only need to turn on the setting you described. That appears to be what it's used for.

If turning on this setting doesn't solve his problem, would you please try to help him further? It's a problem I don't have with a feature I've never used -- that's why I was having a hard time understanding.

Yeah, we haven't heard from @divyanshu yet, but apparently all he needs to do is flip that switch on. The hardest part of this one was understanding what the problem was.

In budgie using alt+tab should show-up every opened window, minimized or not, on every virtual desktop and switching from one and other should get you to the virtual desktop the window is in. That's my experience so far.
