After using Solus Plasma for almost a month, I am back on gnome and I plan to stay on gnome for now.

I also have a solus xfce VM where i test things.

I found this theme the other day: luigifab/human-theme

It is basically the old ubuntu human theme but adapted for today.
So I had to try it in my VM for nostalgia purposes!

Trying out Noctalia v5, in place of DankMaterialShell... No real reason, just playing!

stocc how do you do that? Uninstall (sudo eopkg rm dank-materia-shell) or whatever its called)?

Or switch out the .config (dotfile) file?

stocc Still running Noctalia v5. A quick comparison of resource usage between Dank (qs) and Noctalia v5, which no longer uses quickshell. Noctalia is much lighter on memory usage:

brent I still have it installed, I've just stopped it auto starting. I made a backup of the ~/.config/niri/config.kdl file, built and installed noctalia from source, then made changes to the config.kdl file to reflect noctalia use versus dank.

Clintre It's such an evolving DE. The MX Linux xfce and the solus xfce don't even feel like cousins to me

stocc alacritty identical in both environments. I like that consistency. those are some dramatic differences in places for qs/noct. probably not noticeable by user (?).

brent Definitely not noticeable on my system, as I have 16GB anyway. I think the memory differences get even more starker on multi-monitor systems, but I have just the laptop which sits, well..., on my lap!
