While waiting for the release of Budgie Wayland, I decided to use Labwc and Waybar on Solus. The performance is excellent 🙂 After configuration, I find the rendering quite good 🙂

vloshof28 try using quickshell instead of waybar. It gives so much options! Almost full DE.

That wallpaper is a screenshot from the japanese band Fate Gear's cover music video of "Super Sonic Samurai"

The original song is from a german power metal band called VICTORIOUS

I just dirty-edited the screenshot a little since that "sakura pink" would be burning my coronas in the dark so I settled for a darker red and then upscaled the picture to get rid of the worst artifacts, a dim pinkish glow can still be seen around the petals but i think that just adds a nice effect though 😛

PS: Fury Road is a masterpiece!

stocc What are your settings to get that blur effect? I havenn't quite figured out how to do it yet.

EbonJaeger For the DMS widgets, it's in DMS Settings-->Theme & Colors-->Background Blur enabled, and in DMS Settings-->Theme & Colors-->Widget Styling, I've set Popup Transparency to 50%.
The terminal is Alacritty and for that I needed to create a window-rule in my niri config (as well as set opacity in my alacritty.toml config file):

stocc been playing with DMs/TMs between Solus and Endeavour. Tried a half dozen WM/Tms, and their dotfiles, installed from Budgie. Including ML4W,

Whether it be fonts alacritty, etc my Budgie settings always get screwed up by the WM…

is there a sweet spot?

or do you give Niri the whole SSD/HDD?

brent I tend to only use niri and dank. I do have a DE installed too, but it's been a long while since I last loaded it. To be honest I can't remember whether the DE is Budgie or Xfce. It doesn't surprise me that there might be some conflict, but as I don't really use the DE environment I don't see it. Sorry I can't be more help.

that tells me everything. Niri is the DD you love and you don't even need the DE. I understand this.

WhiteWolf With Labwc, I prefer to use Waybar for simplicity. However, I gladly use QuickShell for Niri 😉

My desktop setup is pretty much the default; although I love customising things, GNOME offers me almost everything I look for in a desktop environment right out of the box. And Solus has given me the best experience I’ve ever had with it <3

Hello to everybody in the solus community. I'm new here but a convinced solus kde user since Jan 26. Two years of distro hopping ended immediately discovering solus. I'd like to show my solus desktop. I only changed wallpaper and a couple of icons. Rest is stock. Big Greetings from germany :-) dmr
