Axios Time to delve deep into GTK theming!
My aims were to maximise available vertical space on a small widescreen laptop, push information to the top of the screen for ergonomics, and still allow easy management of multiple windows and desktops (ie. no auto-hide).
Solus/Budgie makes it so simple to create a custom desktop to-spec. I've never come across another distro/DE that combines the flexibility, ease-of-use and pleasing aesthetics. Hope I never have to leave!
This is my current desktop.
Have a blessed Sunday, you all!
I'm using Budgie since 2018 I think. It was love at first sight. Who needs Plasma anyway. Well, I don't

Solus budgie 4.3
New look. Scan of a picture taken by a film camera, then generated the color scheme with pywal. Budgie is great, despite what recent headlines might lead you to believe . Just replaced Nautilus with Caja.
DE: Budgie 10.6.4
Theme: Plata-Noir
Icons: Papirus
I've been using solus for 2 years and I don't miss Windows like I thought I would,
*solus mate. clock is Peter Levi's clock. He makes Variety wallpaper app.
*I have to rewrite parts of .conf code to get day 12hr time, seconds, year. I have to teach myself clock.
*Mate desktop panel is, let's say, unworkable---I ripped panel out of Mate (hid).
*Super key for app menu and turned the rest over to Plank.
*Plank Rocks.
*This is my workspace. It's where I need it to be.
