Post a message with an attached file?

I created the first version of a tutorial about creating VirtualBox VMs on Solus, and tried to attach it (a PDF file) to a message here. I got a javascript error from Discuss. I thought it might be because I hadn't refreshed the forum page first, so I did than a tried again with the same result. Then I replaced the spaces in the file name with underscores, and that didn't work either.

Does anyone know what the Attach icon at the bottom of the message editor is for? Obviously it's not for selecting a file to be attached to the message, because that clearly doesn't work at all.

Is there another way to make the file available to forum users?

I think you can only upload image files. Everything else quits with "Uploading files of this type is not allowed." in the lower left corner.

Uploading it to a cloud-storage solution like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc. and then linking it here would work, for example.

WetGeek you can use gimp to save a document as a .png
you will not be able to then select text to copy as there is none, it's a picture. 😄

i've never used any those services ... that's why I have a NAS. I'll need to figure out how to do that and try again tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.
