eopkg system error - invalid xml

I recently noticed that I had no update notification for the last several weeks. So I ran sudo eopkg up but it returned System error. Program terminated.. Running --debuggave me the detail :

So I tried to run sudo eopkg check and sudo eopkg rdb but they both eventually returned :

Program terminated.
File '/var/lib/eopkg/package/libtasn1-32bit-4.18.0-16/files.xml' has invalid XML

I haven't found a similar issue on the forum, any idea on how I can fix this ?

Don't know how to fix this, but let's try something by adding manuallly the invalid XML file.
touch files.xml
add this content:

    <File>
	<Path>usr/lib32/libtasn1.so.6</Path>
        <Type>library</Type>
        <Size>17</Size>
        <Uid>0</Uid>
        <Gid>0</Gid>
        <Mode>0777</Mode>
        <Hash>5c9f5c20ac3b538c10468950d48d0952327e54c5</Hash>
    </File>
    <File>
	<Path>usr/lib32/libtasn1.so.6.6.2</Path>
        <Type>library</Type>
        <Size>87532</Size>
        <Uid>0</Uid>
        <Gid>0</Gid>
        <Mode>0755</Mode>
        <Hash>7276c0a5ed942dd0e97b856413be74e6988b825b</Hash>
    </File>
</Files>

and then install it:

install files.xml /var/lib/eopkg/package/libtasn1-32bit-4.18.0-16/files.xml

Then you can do:
sudo eopkg it --reinstall libtasn1-32bit

algent Thank you for your help ! I did what you wrote, but I have the same piksemel.ParseError when I run sudo eopkg it --reinstall libtasn1-32bit :/

I ran sudo eopkg check again and I have a new error now :

Program terminated.
File '/var/lib/eopkg/package/nvidia-glx-driver-modaliases-470.82.00-413/files.xml' has invalid XML

That's odd ... And I haven't installed any new package lately, I've just kept my system up to date.

Repeat the same process but this time set an empty file for files.xml
delete the files.xml that could be in the dir and then:

touch files.xml
install files.xml /var/lib/eopkg/package/nvidia-glx-driver-modaliases-470.82.00-413/files.xml

If something similar happens again, repeat the process. In the end do the sudo eopkg check and sudo eopkg up.

But yet, reinstalling the system is a faster fix.

I've manually added the files.xml of the nvidia package as for libtasn1, ran sudo eopkg up, and it worked !
