Axios What are the better nas drives
When I got my Synology NAS, the current wisdom suggested that Hitachi made a series of drives that were especially designed for NAS use. I don't remember the details, and the names may be different now anyway, but if I ever needed to replace one, I'd certainly do it with another Hitachi drive. One meant for NAS use.
Mine have been in an NAS that's been running 24/7 now for a good many years, with no issues at all. Every month the Synology firmware reports that all's well with the drives. It's pretty boring, but that's the way I like it.
