Can't acces Skype for Business-Meeting

I have a job interview soon, which is held in Skype for Business. I was given a link (join.xyzblablabla etc.) to attend this meeting in preparation, but I was unable to join.

Is it because the meeting is just too far in the future or are Skype for Business links incompatible?
Do you know any alternatives? I can't use my phone because it is damaged. The webapp don't work either.

Generally, you won't be able to access meetings until a few minutes before it's scheduled to start with Microsoft and Cisco products. Why are they using Skype anyway? That product has been deprecated in favor of teams by Microsoft.

Goldhahn yes, Linux client should be enough. I'd have some type of backup still, another device, a mobile, something. I like redundancy and making sure I will have a way to make it should something breakdown.
