chrome/third party app question

I have not been on Solus in a while and was wondering if 3rd party apps like chrome still had to be manually updated or were they updated automatically like other apps from the repo now?

I would have asked on Twitter but I'm apparently blocked? I have no idea why and would like to be unblocked if that is ok.

hotrodwinston Yeah, you still have to update those apps manually.

hotrodwinston 🙂 You will need to update Google Chrome manually. To make things easier for you, I recommend checking https://github.com/getsolus/3rd-party/commits/master on a regular basis to find out when there is a new release of Google Chrome available for Solus users.

It's not a huge deal just fixing to distro-hop and wanted to see if Solus was right for me - gonna check it out - only thing i have to lose is time at this point. Gotta get off windows.

hotrodwinston There used to be a Python script that checked for third party updates, but it seems it's no longer maintained (eopkg3p)
