Hello,

I installed Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 17 Studio on my Laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics.
Installation was fine but it needs GPU processing with OpenCL 1.2 or CUDA 11. The later is exclusive to Nvidia GPUs but OpenCL 1.2 should work with my AMD GPU.

Problem there is no OpenCL driver installed DaVinci Resolve will recognize. What do I have to do to fix this?

chris109 Solus does not have an OpenCL driver for AMD.
Personally, I have been booting into Windows to use Resolve.

      Hi chris109.
I'm curious, how did you install DaVinci Resolve on Solus?

davidjharder - In this case, what do I do to get the project to include one. Those edge cases are the once preventing people to use Solus. - I'd like to keep using Solus, because it is rolling release but very stable.

So what do I need to do to get OpenCL for AMD.

solus_me Super easy. Download the official ZIP file for Linux from the Black Magic Design Homepage, extract it, make the ".run" file executable and run the installer.

          Really?
I thought that their linux release is for Debian, and in case I try it in Solus there could be dependence issues. I'm very curious how it is going to run on my machine, since I don't have a dedicated GPU. It will be interesting test.

chris109 Solus is a volunteer enterprise. The volunteers work on what they think is important and what they have time for. Unfortunately, nobody has had the time or motivation to package ROCm which is how AMD cards would come to support OpenCL on Solus
