Partial Update only

Hi! My Laptop refuses to update completely. I did follow the instructions here https://discuss.getsol.us/d/1617-issue-with-eopkg-upgrade-update-repo/34 but a lot of packages are not listed inside the installedPackages-list. How can I get my system back to fully update?

MetaNorm We need to know exactly what error sudo eopkg up -y is giving you.
A print/photo of the screen or copy-paste the output here.

Well there is no error. Everything is up to date. That's my problem because that's not true. I'm stucking at Gnome 40.2 and firefox 89.02 for example.

I'm not so sure but maybe this could fix your problem:

sudo eopkg dc
sudo eopkg rdb
sudo eopkg up
run them in the same order

try to remove the repo and then update, sudo eopkg rr the default repo (https://mirrors.rit.edu/solus/packages/shannon/eopkg-index.xml.xz) would be restored after that, then delete cache sudo eopkg dc then update and run sudo usysconf run -f

Thank you but nothing changes. Still stucking with the outdated packages.
I don't understand why this eopkg li | cut -d " " -f 1 | tr '\n' ' ' > ~/InstalledPackages doesn't find all installed packages. So I can't reinstall them all.

I've had the same problem long time ago, I don't remember if I fixed it. At the time I was using other pc

MetaNorm Because somehow you packager manager and the database is Broken. At this point I recommend you to backup your important files and then reinstall the system.
You should be really careful with eopkg because it is a python2 package, and it can be Broken easy by using pip not in a virtual environment, or by deleting stuff in /var/lib/eopkg.

Outsch, really?? Wow, that's odd. What can cause such a harsh error and how can I prevent in normal daily use to not step into such situation?

MetaNorm Don't delete random files without knowing what they're there for. Don't follow random instructions from strangers on the internet. (Those two are connected)

If I had to guess, the contents of /var/lib/eopkg/

Really? But how may this happen unknowingly? It's my Dads Laptop and I'm shure he doesn't know how to make the hidden folders visible.
But ok, what I get is that a essential file or library is corrupted and it's not possible to repair it via remote, right?

MetaNorm At this point, after the above mentioned tricks haven't worked, there is not much you can do but reinstall the system, or manually reinstalling a lot of packages in the hope that those + dependencies will cover most things.

Did you try this press ctl+alt+f2 then login with your user name and password and update from there. Then reboot with reboot I remember long time ago I had fresh install of solus and had to do that then everything worked and updated

Yes, I do always updates by using tty. That's something what's left from the time before when I was using Manjaro.
