I've plugged it in and opened up the settings for printer and it doesn't recognize the printer. Is there any packages I need to download? I've already installed the only Epson printer drivers from the software center.

I don't remember much, but it's plug and play in my laptop. Try installing gutenprint from repository. I don't have the printer at hand.

yursan9 You sure it's the same printer? Because I already had that installed and it did nothing. Granted, it could be my laptop being a mess because similar problem happened as well back when I was using elementaryOS where the printers is recognized, but any printing task I did using WPS Office would be skipped and taken as already done.

yursan9 I qualified it with the "if"---but I should disclose my this was my experience with some Brother brands I've owned. My point was 'where there's a will there's a way' but glad it is solved. Or going to be. I read this post too fast perhaps.

brent It's probably my laptop being janky since (like I said above) there's similar problem when I was using eOS.
