Weird Errors in Plasma

So I'm getting weird permission errors and I have no idea what to do about it. I'm experiencing similar issues to this user, but I can't launch a browser or anything to post results in the forums.....I don't have permission. Generally the system is very slow overall, everything takes a long time to run and error messages everywhere about config files. No audio devices show available, just weird problems all over the place. Used this laptop all weekend with no issues, wasn't until this morning everything started.
When trying to uninstall a package from terminal using sudo eopkg rm tlp I'm told you have to be root....run sudo su and then run eopkg rm tlp and again, same error Program Terminated You have to be root for this operation. When I launch konsole or dolphin I see an error message 'Configuration file "/home/bruce/.config/dolphinrc" not writable. Please contact your system administrator.' if I aknowledge the message, it will launch, but it seems like everything is locked up for a bit.

systemd-analyze shows 3.661s (firmware) + 314ms (loader) + 1.204s (kernel) + 1.111s (initrd) + 1min 30.328s (userspace) = 1min 36.675s graphical.target reached after 986ms in userspace.

journalctl --disk-usage reports Archived and active journals take up 56.0M in the file system.

systemd-analyze blame has tlp.service at 418ms, user@1000.service at 380ms, initrd-switch-root.service at 361ms, org.cups.cupsd.service at 342ms then a bunch of dev-loop .service at 328-243ms.

Brucehankins I thought I only got the weird ones. This is weird. No updates. Just booted a functioning computer yesterday and found it massively weirded out today.
Somehow your computer turned into HAL. 🙁
Where would you even begin troubleshooting something like this?
Maybe vacuum all journalctl out and purge caches and temp stuff? the sudo eopkg check if it lets you?

Could this extreme privilege change been caused by an errant install or compile?

brent Doubtful, I haven't installed anything from outside the repo in ages. I think it's most likely kernel related since it would appear a fair number of users on AMD hardware are having similar problems with the last update. I've been following a couple other threads (should have used search first before starting mine) and it seems like a rollback fixes things. I just need the time to actually try it at this point.

Girtablulu I'm now locked out in emergency mode, can't boot to a TTY terminal or anything else. Going to try to chroot into it and rollback the last update when I have a chance.

Brucehankins had this issu once, somehow some sektors got corrupted on my ssd, it was fixed by chrooting in and manually run fsck on the disk

Brucehankins I've seen these threads too. I remember the common theme of sluggishness but only remember you having the permission issues. But I didn't read everything..

Girtablulu tried this, didn't work. Tried rolling back, didn't work. Every boot was stuck in emergency mode. Trying to reach install now.....hope my backups work! Lol

brent I'm sure it will, I'm back on with a fresh install, working on restoring now.

brent against Girt's warning I switched to unstable and all is good again. Now onto theming again.

Brucehankins the rec in that thread I remember was the stable kernel identified by @zmaint . So much info in that one maybe our wires crossed. But you are stable which is good.
